Knowing Our Past, Creating Our Future Series: The Past & Future of Environmental Justice

Description

Thursday, October 28 | 5 – 7pm To mark the 30th anniversary of the First National People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit, join us for an intergenerational dialogue with longtime and emerging environmental justice activists as we reflect on the historic summit and its continuing relevance for today’s struggles. Moderated by organizers Katie Petitt (Current Movements) and Matt Birkhold (Visionary Organizing Lab), the conversation will feature Vernice Miller-Travis (environmental justice pioneer), Dennis Chestnut (longtime civic ecologist), and John Wood, Field Director for Earth Conservation Corps. This program is in collaboration with the Visionary Organizing Lab and Current Movements.
