Description (Brief)
This is the bunker coat worn by FDNY Battalion Chief Joseph W. Pfeifer on September 11, 2001 during the attack on the World Trade Center. It is black with yellow reflecting tape on the bottom of jacket as well as at cuffs and neck. "FDNY BATT CHIEF PFEIFER" is sewn on to the back of the jacket in white reflective tape. There are metal clasps and Velcro fasteners down the front and on the sleeves. Engine Seven, Ladder One was one of the first fire-and-rescue units to arrive at the World Trade Center, and was led by Battalion Chief Pfeifer.
