Description

Introduced in 1977, Chia Pet is the trade name for a brand of novelty terracotta planters in the form of figurines. Chia Pets have come in many designs, including animals and characters from popular culture. Chia sprouts are grown on the planter in select areas to resemble features such as hair or fur.
This Chia Pet depicts Jerry Garcia (1942-1995) best known for being a singer, songwriter and guitarist in the rock band Grateful Dead.
