Description
Woman's jacket made from imitation sealskin (woven silk plush), front closure with hooks and eyes, long sleeves, closely fitted, slight fullness at top of armseye, cut with long tippets in front, back full but short to fit over bustle, stand collar. Lined with quilted brown satin, interior slit pockets with ruffled opening set with small, self-fabric bows at each end and decorated with a strip of plush. Label from Washington, DC retailer, Lansburgh's, center interior top, base of collar, made from woven ribbon, used as a hanger (ribbon is fraying and almost illegible). One of series of jackets made from imitation sealskin in the collection.
