A History of Roadwork
Description
Roadwork was founded in 1978 as a multiracial coalition that put women’s culture on the road—from the Sisterfire Festival to Sweet Honey In The Rock, from Holly Near to Toshi Reagon, and so many more. In 2018, Roadwork celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, kicking off with a fundraising concert at Busboys & Poets in Takoma Park on February 11, 2018.
