Summary

This helmet was used during testing of a developmental, full pressure suit that was part of a series of pressure suits developed by B.F. Goodrich in the early and middle 1950s. One advanced feature of this suit was the zippered sizing adjustments and a bayonet-type neck disconnect to which the helmet was attached.
The US Navy, Naval Air Material Center transferred this helmet to the National Air and Space Museum in 1956.
