Summary
This handhold could be attached to the Manipulator Foot Restraint to provide a stabilizing grip point for the astronaut or a place to tether tools. Occasionally a second astronaut would hitch a ride on the Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm) by holding on here. NASA transferred a Manipulator Foot Restraint and this handhold from the Hubble Space Telescope program when the Space Shuttle program ended. This equipment was used on Hubble servicing missions.
