    United States Army Air Service (USAAS) flying goggles worn by Gen. William "Billy" Mitchell; chrome steel frames with tinted green glass lenses; one lens cracked and brittle natural rubber eye pads; khaki colored elastic adjustable strap; aluminum case.

    These Meyrowitz flying goggles were worn by Gen. William "Billy" Mitchell, commander of the United States Army Air Service during World War I, and were issued to military aviators as part of their standard flying equipment.
