Summary
This Intra-vehicular glove is part of the pair worn by Gordon Cooper for training purposes during the Apollo era.
The Intra-vehicular gloves were identical to those used during mission launch. They were made with a bladder, which was dip molded from a hand cast of the individual's hand. The interior had an inner restraint core of nylon tricot which had been dipped in a neoprene compound. A convoluted section was incorporated into the wrist with anodized aluminium connectors for attachment to the spacesuit. A fingerless glove restraint was attached to the bladder at the wrist and enclosed the entire hand excluding the fingers and thumb.
Transferred to the National Air and Space Museum from NASA in 1978.
