This Appalachian dulcimer was made by Floyd A. Gardner in Woodlawn, Virginia, in 1966. It is a single-bout dulcimer, with three strings (one melody string and two drone strings), dark wood nut and bridge, 16 metal frets, 4 heart-shaped sound holes, 4 machine side tuners with plastic heads, carved out pegbox, and rectangular head.
