Description
Landscape sketch showing a view within a forest, likely in New England or New York. Moss-covered rocks and debris stretch across the forest floor from the foreground to the middle distance, while the trunks of what appear to be conifer trees are visible throughout. Being beneath the forest canopy, the scene is generally in shadow. Indistinct foliage backdrops the scene, with one red or blooming plant standing out at left.
