Description
Football shaped button has a silver ground with Football Boosters - Fairfax H.S. printed in blue in the center of the button. Button likely is to support Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia. The school was founded in 1936. The team mascot of Fairfax High School has been somewhat controversial. Known as the Rebels, Fairfax was reprented by a character known as Johnny Reb (a Confederate solider). In 1985, Johnny Reb was removed amid protest from students and was replaced by the Rebel Rouser which resembled a ball of lint. Today the school's mascot is a lion.
