Summary

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Elena de Galantha immigrated to the United States in 1922, where she trained in medicine. This photograph was taken c. 1952 when she was a research scientist at the Air Force School of Aviation Medicine and considered one of the world's top authorities on histology.
