    Summary

    This is a special display case for the lightweight communications headset was worn by astronaut Donn Eisle during the Apollo 7 mission in October 1968. Though the astronauts wore a full communications cap with their spacesuits, this headset was lighter and less confining so used more regularly during normal operations inside the spacecraft. A special display case was created for each headsets of the Apollo 7 astronauts.
    NASA transferred this headset to the Smithsonian 1974.
