    Summary

    This artifact is the single propeller for the Fokker T-2 aircraft which, in 1923, made the first nonstop U.S. transcontinental flight, under the auspices of the U.S. Army Air Service. The aircraft (Cat. No. A19240003000), which was designed by famed Dutch manufacturer Anthony Fokker and his chief designer, Rheinhold Platzis, is displayed in the museum's Pioneers of Flight Gallery.
