Description
This component is made of steel; brass. and aluminum. The metal base supports a large gear which has a flat steel disc on it. The motion of the gear is linked to the rotation of a metal rod that runs above it. The base also supports a rectangular metal front painted black. A dial is on the front. Turning the dial (if it were fully connected) would alter the position of the link between the gear and the metal rod. Mrk on plastic tag on the front reads om part: DO NOT EXCEED 60 UNITS (/) IN EITHER DIRECTION. Number on crosspiece reads: 94211.
Parts of the Bush differential analyzer surviving at the Smithsonian have museum numbers MA.314824 and 1983.3002.01 through 1983.3002.89.
