Summary

A square relief plaque set into the front of a large boulder. Depicted is Christopher Columbus setting foot in the New World. Columbus kneels, a cross held in his raised proper right hand. With his proper left hand he holds the handle of his sword with the point planted in the ground. To his proper right is a stand of palm trees. To his proper left are families in a rowboat nearing land. In the background is a three-masted sailing ship.
