    Description

    Black cocktail length nylon/Lycra blend knit and black nylon/Spandex blend net; top bodice and sleeves of net, bodice and skirt of knit; round neck; long sleeves; shoulders have applied black braid in curvilinear swirl design with clear round rhinestones scattered on shoulders, tops of sleeves, and top of bodice; nude rounded shoulder pads; knit dress has deep sweetheart neckline; princess seams; low, curved back; center back zipper; unlined; size XS.
    Donors Evette Cardona and Mona Noriega are Chicago-based activists. They have worked with and founded various organizations dedicated to advocating for LGBTQ+ Latinas, such as Amigas Latinas (1995-2015) and Women of All Colors and Cultures Together (WACT). Noriega was also previously the chair of the Illinois Human Rights Commission.
    This dress was acquired as part of the museum's Latino Clothing and Identity Project, which ran from 2008-2009.
