Cigarette Case, Lindbergh, King Collection

A case that features a color image of the Spirit of St. Louis flying over water between the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty. The plane is large compared to the tower and statue. The aircraft is also pointed down towards the water. The case features a hinge and a small metal button on the side. Inside the case are two arms that extend over each half of the case. The inside as well as the arms is gold in color.

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
