Charcoal and ink wash sketch on thick white card. View from atop a set of stairs at Chateau Thierry. Village and low hills in background. There is an inscription (of several lines) on the lower left of the sketch that has been erased or is faded. Only the first line of this inscription--"Chateau Thierry"--is legible.
