Charm, Lindbergh, King Collection

The circular medal hangs inside a u-shaped frame with a small ring attached at the top. One side of the medal has the letters "UK" and "ID" above and below the front half of an airplane. The reverse side of the medal has the letters "LCY" and "LNY" above and below the other half of the airplane. The medal has two small pins from the frame into the sides of the medal that allow it to rotate inside the frame.

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity. More than 75 years after the Spirit's historic flight, Lindbergh's name still has the power help sell manufactured goods.
