Small, low chairs similar to this one are used throughout much of Côte d'Ivoire. A chair is typically owned and used by an individual man. It is carried over the shoulder when he leaves his house for a social gathering in the community.
Description
Low, plain wood chair composed of thin, curved semi-circular back rail on two side supports that join into two thick cylindrical side pieces. A thin flat platform rests between the two cylinders and the whole chair is supported by four squat legs.
