Description

Owney received this token advertising Fred A. Leonard’s Central Engine fire station. Leonard was listed as a driver for the Central Engine in the 1891 Taunton, Massachusetts, city directory. The back of the token shows a sketch of a fire engine of the period. Taunton was served by a handful of railway lines, including the New Bedford Railroad and the Old Colony & Newport Railroad.
