Summary
This is the vinyl and foam storage case for the Hand-Held Maneuvering Unit used by Gemini IV astronaut Edward White III during his historic "walk in space" on June 3, 1965. The Unit was made of aluminum and stainless steel, with three small rocket nozzles. A switch in the handle enabled White to fire the rockets to help move him forward or to the right or left. The manufacturer of the case is unknown.
NASA transferred it to NASM in 1967.
