Summary
The later Apollo lunar missions Apollo 15, 16 and 17 were equipped with 4cm diameter "Drive Tubes" for extracting cylindrical samples of the lunar regolith for analysis and study when returned to Earth. Simple dispensers with translucent Teflon caps to seal the drive tubes after sample collection were provided. This dispenser and set of caps was used for training and transferred to the Smithsonian in 1974.
