Exhibit, Hall 26, 1976." 1978 NMNH slide set caption: Canopic Jar and Lid, alabaster, carved and painted, represents baboon god Hapi, Egyptian. Note re photos: Negative # 78-8778 is oblique, dk, overview, with jar lid on. 78-8779 is oblique, dk, overview, with jar lid off.
    From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Canopic jar, c. 400-200 BC. Container held mummified organs needed for the deceased's immortal body. Baboon-headed Hapy crowns the jar for lungs.
