Inscription: same as catalog number 289288 except first words are "The Osiris Kebehsenuf" Lid and jare match but misidentified.
From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Canopic jar (cast), 945-712 BC. Containers like this held the deceased's lungs, stomach, liver, and intestines. The lid represents one of the four sons of Horus - Qebehsenuef (falcon) - who stood guard over the organs.
