Description
Landscape sketch showing a view of a campfire beside a shallow mountain stream in the woods of Maine. The immense trunks of two fallen trees criss-cross at center, creating a pocket in which the fire burns. Its rich red-orange flames lap the thick branches that fuel it, while others become glowing coals in the depths of the inferno. Below, comprising the foreground, a shallow, rocky stream reflects the fire's warm light. A steep mountainside strewn with fallen leaves, decaying trees, and other detritus backdrops the scene.
