Summary
The Apollo 11 Command Module "Columbia" was equipped with this automatic Maurer 16mm data acquisition camera (DAC), designed to operate at several speeds while documenting technical aspects of the mission. It recorded engineering data, spacecraft, and crew performance during docking and undocking procedures. Mounted in "Columbia's" window, it recorded the historic events leading up to humankind's first landing on the Moon in July 1969.
NASA transferred this camera to the Museum in 1970.
