Description
Texas entrepreneur Ross Perot ran as an independent in the 1992 presidential election. Although he finished third behind Democrat Bill Clinton, governor of Arkansas, and Republican President George H.W. Bush, Perot received almost 19% of the popular vote making him the most successful non-major party candidate since Theodore Roosevelt in 1912.
