Button, Lindbergh, King Collection

A white button with a border that alternates between red and white stripes and a blue background with white stars. In the center of the button is an image of Lindbergh smiling wearing a suit and tie. Black lettering below the image reads "Captain Charles Plucky Lindbergh" The button is attached to a red white and blue striped ribbon that hangs below the button. In the center of the ribbon is a gold image of the Spirit of St. Louis with gold lettering above and below "Welcome Home Our Hero"

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
