SEATED BLUE FAIENCE FIGURE HAS BARE TORSO & WEARS KNEE-LENGTH SKIRT. BACK STRAIGHT, ARMS ON KNEES HOLDING FLAT TABLET ON LAP, LEGS CROSSED & FOLDED UNDERNEATH. HAS CARVED FACIAL FEATURES & EARS. HAS BABOON CLINGING TO BACK OF HEAD, ITS TAIL DRAPING DOWN FIGURE'S BACK. COULD ALSO BE BABOON-SHAPED HEADDRESS? FIGURE RESTS ON FLAT, ROUGHLY RECTANGULAR BASE. HAS HAIRLINE CRACKS AT BASE BOTTOM AND NECK.
Statue, blue faience, scribe with baboon headdress (representing baboon form of Thoth). Per Johns Hopkins University Egyptologist Betsy Bryan, probably fake or modern copy; shows an amalgamation of styles - pose and dress are typical of 18th Dynasty, while baboon headdress is more 19th or 20th Dynasty.
