Description
Original lobby card for Universal International Pictures’ 1954 motion picture, The Black Shield of Falworth. Rudolph Maté directed this historical adventure about a peasant training to become a knight during the reign of King Henry IV. Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, and David Farrar star in this film. This card depicts Lady Anne conversing with Meg.
Lobby cards were once a popular form of advertisement for motion pictures. The publicity departments of Hollywood studios created cards featuring striking images of their latest films and delivered sets to theatres across the country. Lobby cards were created to entice future audiences and increase ticket sales.
