    Description (Brief)

Beige baseball uniform dress worn by Joyce Hill Westerman #34, while playing for the Peoria Redwings. The uniform was designed for the All American Girls Baseball League by Mrs. Phillip Wrigley (wife of the owner of the Chicago Cubs), Otis Shepard (Wrigley's art director), and Ann Harnett (Chicago softball star and the first player to sign a contract with the League). The style was based on the athletic clothing of women figure skaters and tennis players of the 1940s. The Peoria Redwings AAGBBL team was an expansion team first playing in 1946. The team folded after the 1951 season, never having won a championship.
