Description

Official scorecard for 1959 Baltimore Orioles professional baseball team. “1956 Aug 14th “is handwritten in ink on the cover. On that date the Orioles, led by a commanding complete game shutout by right-handed pitcher Connie Johnson, defeated the Washington Nationals 3-0.The scorecard's cover features an image of the Oriole mascot and advertisements for National Bohemian beer.
In 1959 the Baltimore Orioles finished sixth in the American League with a record of 74-80. Playing their game at Memorial Stadium, the team, managed by Paul Richards, fielded two future Hall of Famer players, pitcher Hoyt Wilhem and third baseman Brooks Robinson.
