Bag, Lindbergh, King Collection

A blue fabric travel bag with four (4) wheels attached to an internally supported bottom and a zipper seal on the top along with two (2) handles. A white embossed image of the Spirit of St. Louis aircraft appears central on one side of the bag with text below that reads "Spirit of St. Louis Lindbergh's Lyan NYP Plane. 1927"

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
