    Summary

    This bag was used to transfer and store the helmets worn by astronaut Harrison "Jack" Schmitt during the last Apollo 17 mission in December, 1972.
    The interior of the bag has a fitted base into which the Extra-Vehicular (EV) gloves may be secured along with the EV helmet. The Intra-Vehicular (IV) gloves were stored in this way during EV periods.
    This helmet bag was transferred to the National Air and Space Museum from NASA in 1985.
