People Files

This series, a group of materials created by McCormick, relates to people including close friends, acquaintances, business partners, colleagues, musicians, singers, actors, political figures, and craftsmen. Some of the people in this series can also be found in other portions of the collection. Materials consist primarily of correspondence, research notes, photographs, index cards, newspaper clippings, and magazine articles. McCormick arranged the materials in alphabetical order. Before each letter of the alphabet, he created a "names beginning with [a letter]" folder. The last folder contains information relating to people McCormick wanted to find. Some folders were removed pending a Smithsonian Shared Stewardship and Ethical Returns investigation.
