Scope and Contents
Contains the personal papers of Emma Jane Kennedy who was born on June 27, 1861. She was a student nurse when she died in March 1883 in Buffalo, New York. Her papers include correspondence, newspaper clippings, spending records, receipts, mail package, postcards, Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) manual, envelopes, church document, religious cards, handkerchief, electoral ballots, calling cards, and instructions on how to flirt. These materials were found in her trunk in the attic at 13 Seward Street when the residence was sold after Ruth Louise Sandford's death. Materials are arranged in chronological order.
