Scope and Contents
Glass plate negatives documenting civil and mechanical engineering activities related to various construction projects and structures. Few of the images are identified, but many depict the same scene or project. Named projects that show up in multiple images include the Washington, D.C. sewage pumping station, Columbian Exposition ferris wheel, and Gas and Coke Works. Other construction projects include factories, railroad tracks and stations, wreckage, and scaffolding/framework. The glass plates are 8 in x 10 in, 4 in x 5 in, and 6.5 in x 8.5 in.
