Stereograph Cards

American History Museum

Object Details

Collection Creator

Pennsylvania Railroad.

Collection Citation

Penn Station, New York, Photographs, Archives Center, National Museum of American History.

Scope and Contents

The stereograph cards document construction progress of the Pennsylvania Terminal, including the Pennsylvania Station site. The cards are arranged in numerial order order (e.g. S52) and follow a chronological order too. Stereographs are two nearly identical photographs or photomechanical prints, paired to produce the illusion of a single three-dimensional image, usually when viewed through a stereoscope.
