Scope and Contents

Consists of paper dolls created from three-dimensional dolls. Most of the paper dolls are created to be Barbie (1959), her family, and friends. Some of the earliest dolls that are used for inspiration include German bisque doll (1860-1900), Mein Liebling (1901), Michelle (1907), Raggedy Ann and Andy (1915), Madame Alexander (1923), and Rosebud (1947). Many of the paper dolls date from the 1950s-1980s and include Chatty Cathy (1959), Troll (1959), Secret Sue (1965), Kissy (1961), Hi Dottie (1971), Itsy Bitsy Beans (1973), Baby Alive (1973), Rub-a-Dub Dolly (1973), Baby Tender Love (1969), Timey Tell (1969), Lazy Dazy Doll (1972), Precious Moments (1975), Strawberry Shortcake (1979), Cabbage Patch Kids (1983), My Buddy and Kid Sister (1985), American Girls (1986), Lady Lovely Locks (1987) Hot Looks (1987), Molly McIntire (1986), Maxie (1988), and Holly Hobby (1989). Materials are arranged in alphabetical order.
