Scope and Contents

Subseries 10f, Susan Smulyan Contribution, 1986-1994 consists of materials that document "Whole Cloth: Discovering Science and Technology through American Textile History," a curricular unit which traces the history of textiles. The materials document all phases of the project, particularly the financial aspects. Smulyan, Associate Professor at Brown University, was one of the project directors for SHOT's 1987 joint curriculum development project with the Smithsonian's Jerome and Dorothy Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation. Utilizing an NSF grant, the project, "Whole Cloth: Discovering Science and Technology through American Textile History," traces the history of textiles.
