The Sam DeVincent Collection of Illustrated American Sheet Music, Archives Center, National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution
Scope and Contents note
Most of the sheets date between 1918-1930. Some are songs with "blues" as an emotional state, rather than as a musical genre. Most of the pieces are Tin Pan Alley creations or Urban Blues/early Jazz compositions. For rural blues, see the Paramount folio in folder 3.7 M. See also DeVincent holdings for Jimmy Rodgers and W.C. Handy (3.8 FF-II). (circa 220 items)
