Also called Mitchell Deroin, son of Baptiste Deroin. Born 1860. Home: Oto and Missouri Reservation, Oklahoma. Reproduced in Berlin B. Chapman, "The Oto and Missouria Reservation," The Chronicles of Oklahoma, Volume XXVI, Number 2, Summer 1948, opposite page 149. At a conference with the Commissioner of Indian Affairs on April 25, 1895, Deroin spoke for the Otoes, against the allotment system. His speech is printed in Chapman's Article, pages 150-51.
