Kimbereley Miner Counting His Money, 1948. Photographic image of a man lying on his stomach on the grass counting coins in his hands. This is money specially issued to the miners by the De Beers Company . It can be used in exchange at to compound store for colorful blankets, clothing, tobacco, and other luxury goods. The image itself is blurry and has been exposed to too much light in the top right area. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1948.
There is only a 6x6 cm. black and white contact print of this image in the Constance Stuart Larrabee collection. EEPA did not produce an 8x10 study print for reference purposes. There is also no original negative.
