Scope and Contents

Street Collection, 1947-48. Photographic image of an older woman standing on the steps of a large building. She is holding a collection box. Behind her are two signs. One reads "Nursery Schools" and has several portrait photographs of black South African children on it. The other sign on the right reads "Apply Within For Boxes, Street Collection, Ekutuleni-Lesdeding, Nursery Schools." A younger woman is putting change into the box that the older woman is holding. There is one 8x10 black and white vintage print of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA also produced an 8x10 study print for reference purposes.
