Scope and Contents

Blind Woman Making Socks, 1948. A woman is sitting, with her eyes closed, in front of a machine attached to a table. There are socks on the table. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1948.
This series of photographs depicts blind South Africans working in an occupational facility in Johannesburg. They are making baskets, tennis nets, and caning chairs.
There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print for reference purposes.
