Transkei Woman With Sticks, 1947. The woman is holding up a tall structure made of sticks of different sizes woven into each other. Another woman on the other side of her is helping her hold it up, but only part of her can be seen. She is wearing a head wrap, skirt, and cloth around her chest. In 1947, Constance Staurt Larrabee visited the Transkei. She was there researching the housing problems in Southern Africa.
There are five 8x10 black and white fiber-based prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print and 6x6 contact print for reference purposes.
