Printed text on verso reads: "Haute-Volta / En Pays Mossi / Tibou / Au soleil couchant, quotidienne et symbolique action des jeunes filles, avant leur mariage: seules elles peuvent et doivent moudre le mil à même le rocher nu de la Montagne Mère."
Translated postcard caption reads: "Upper Volta / At sunset, daily and symbolic action of the girls before their marriage: they alone can and must grind millet out of the bare rock of the Mountain Mother."
